William W. Gorman

Bill Gorman is the founder and managing principal of Faithful Servant and Alacritas Advisers, LLC, bringing decades of experience in strategic planning, executive leadership, and mission-driven operational excellence. A passionate advocate for cause-oriented organizations, Bill has helped numerous nonprofits and mission-led initiatives optimize processes, strengthen financial outcomes, and elevate their impact across various sectors, including faith-based institutions, education, human services, affordable housing, and healthcare.
Throughout his career, Bill has consistently delivered visionary leadership and practical strategies to organizations that aim to serve vulnerable populations. He has served as Interim Executive Director for a homeless-services organization and held leadership roles such as Chief Operating Officer at Franciscan University and the Associate Moderator of the Curia for the Archdiocese of Washington. His work has spanned the management of 98 K-12 schools, university systems, advocacy groups, independent living facilities, and even international operations, including hotels and breweries in Austria and the United States.
Bill’s ability to integrate mission alignment with strategic outcomes is a hallmark of his career. At the Archdiocese of Washington, Bill drove systemic change to refocus operations toward a shared mission across the entire archdiocese including a 40% increase in annual funding over just four years. He also provided executive direction and oversight of the accreditation transitions, curriculum development, and innovative teacher training for schools, establishing a benchmark for educational excellence. Notably, he led logistical and public engagement efforts for high-profile events like Pope Benedict XVI’s visit in 2008 and coordinated all non-governmental operational aspects of Pope Francis’ 2015 Washington, DC visit, including the globally recognized Walk with Francis campaign and the Canonization Mass of St. Junipero Serra.
At Franciscan University, Bill crafted a 20-year strategic vision by engaging over 4,000 stakeholders through workshops, donor outreach, and collaboration with academic and civic leaders. His emphasis on transparency is exemplified by his conceiving, designing, and leading the university’s “Integrity and Truth” initiative, setting the first set of standards in higher education for addressing issues with accountability regarding the sexual abuse of adults.
Beyond his operational and strategic leadership, Bill has served as an advisor to boards and C-suite executives, guiding governance, financial oversight, and organizational alignment with broader mission goals. He has also counseled nonprofits on launching major gift campaigns, reimagining functional areas, and achieving extensive earned media coverage to amplify their visibility and impact.
Bill holds an MBA in Marketing and a Postgraduate Diploma in Management from the University of Leicester, England. Recognized for his contributions to advancing missions of hope and service, he has received honors including the Pontifical Equestrian Order of Saint Gregory the Great conferred Pope Francis and the Benemerenti Medal awarded by Pope Benedict XVI.
A resident of Maryland, Bill spends his non-working time with his wife Bridget and their adult children.
